Garden Designer and Garden Design Tools Instructor Catarina Gonçalves

My name is Catarina Gonçalves, I’m from Portugal currently living in Ericeira. I’m a garden designer, graduated from Greenwich University in 2006, I love everything to do with design, gardens, and plants. And of course, outdoor living, decoration, and furniture are elements I enjoy a lot when working with clients. Since 2017 that I wanted to create a blog or a website so I could share my experiences not only as a garden designer but mainly how I developed my projects and how I create my renderings and animations. So in 2018, I started Garden Design Tools.

  • What will I learn in this course?

    In this course, you will learn how to use Twinmotion 2023 to create realistic and immersive 3D visualizations of your garden designs. You will start with the basics of Twinmotion, including how to navigate the interface and import models from SketchUp. Then, you will learn how to customize your scene using Twinmotion's asset library, adjusting materials, adding objects, and incorporating human and animal characters for increased realism. You will also learn advanced techniques such as adding water features, adjusting lighting and weather and utilizing sound effects. Finally, you will learn how to present your designs effectively using real-time visualizations, rendered images and videos, and Twinmotion's presentation mode. By the end of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge to create stunning visualizations that will impress clients and stakeholders alike.

  • Do I need any prior experience with Twinmotion or SketchUp to take this course?

    While prior experience with Twinmotion is not necessary, a basic understanding of SketchUp is recommended before taking this course. This course assumes that you have some familiarity with SketchUp, including how to create and manipulate 3D models. However, even if you're new to SketchUp, the course will guide you through the necessary steps to prepare and import your models into Twinmotion.     To take this course, you will need a computer with the following specifications: Software Requirements; Twinmotion 2023 (which you can download from the official Twinmotion website) SketchUp (any version from 2017 onwards) Adobe Acrobat Reader (for accessing the course workbook) Hardware Requirements; A computer with a 64-bit processor and operating system At least 8GB of RAM (16GB recommended) At least 10GB of free hard disk space A graphics card with at least 2GB of VRAM (4GB recommended) A monitor with a minimum resolution of 1280x768 (1920x1080 recommended) You will also need a stable internet connection to download the necessary software and course materials.

  • Is the course self-paced or scheduled?

    This course is self-paced, meaning that you can complete it on your own schedule. The certificate will include the name of the student, the name of the course, and the completion date. To qualify for the certificate, VIP students must complete all modules of the course and pass the final project submission.
